Just as summer winds down, rapper and songwriter Staxx sizzles it up with upcoming single, “I’m on Flex”. His signature flow is reminiscent of 90s New York Hip Hop yet fresh and relevant to the youngest Hip Hop fan. His musical genius is rooted in Yonkers, NY where he was born and raised. The artist and songwriter has been penning lyrics since the tender age of 13 and starting rapping shortly after.
Staxx had two songs featured on the “RZA Presents the Harlem 6 Mixtape” (circa 2006) and has written for a number of underground artists. He did a cover of G-Eazy’s “No Limit” last year and keeps busy with various music projects and performances.
Staxx has a wide variety of artists and genres to credit as influences, naming T.I., Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross and J. Cole at the top. Of course the cypher isn’t complete without NY legends Nas and The late greats Biggie and Tupac. Fans should also be on the lookout for his upcoming singles “Pray for Me” and “Freak” slated for release in mid fall.
